I met with lovely Lulwa AlAyoub (a.k.a. Lulu) and her sister Balsam today and was very inspired and excited about their cause and social entrepreneurship work they are doing not only in Kuwait, but around the world as well! They are trying to promote sports as means of empowerment for women and young females, and if you know the Arab world any better, you know that females are undeserved and represented in sports.

Be an advocate, attend the event if you’re a female living in Kuwait, and if not, spread the word around and mark your calendars for the 6th of March 2010!

A friend of mine, Aisha, have started this new challenge for 2010! She’s going vegan for 365 days and is blogging about her experience. Not that I would go Vegan, but I think what she’s doing is SUPER cool and I’m sure she’ll do great … Support her, or even join her 🙂

G’Luck Aisha 🙂

For those of you who may not be aware, November 14th will mark the World Diabetes Day! The International Diabetes Federation states that this campaign to the general public is:

“a call to understand the serious impact of diabetes and know, where possible, how to avoid or delay diabetes and its complications.”

In Kuwait, Ministry of Health and Dasman Center for Research and Treatment of Diabetes, will host a walk for diabetes on the 14th November @ 9 am. The walk will start from the Yacht’s Club to the Green Island on Gulf Road. This is a great way to support a cause and get exercise in the lovely weather we’re having nowadays 🙂
