Solar roadways may be the answer to our energy problems and heck, it’ll even look cool! The U.S. Department of Energy has funded a prototype of $100 K to test these roadways!

“The 12- x 12-foot panels could theoretically be embedded into roads, and when shined upon, could pipe good, clean electricity straight into the grid. Heck, they could even boast LEDs in order to alert drivers to upcoming accidents or changes in road conditions.” – Darren Murph, Engadget

Bet you Kuwait can generate enough energy to power itself + another country! The amount of sunshine we get is ridiculous mashallah ๐Ÿ˜€ But then again, what will we do when sand-storms strike us!!!

“BMW is joining Honda and pulling out of Formula One at the end of the season. Is it another victim of the financial apocalypse within the auto industry, or are the boys from Bavaria bailing because their results this season have been dreadful?

Probably a little of both. But BMW says itโ€™s leaving the pinnacle of motorsport so it can channel the time and money it spends on the sport into developing greener cars.” – Tony Borroz, Wired

Yup, the picture sums it all up! It’s a great idea that will reduce our carbon footprint a bit. I can just imagine how great this would work here in Kuwait during evenings and weekends when for some reason everybody wants to shop @ the supermarket or mall. Oh and slap flexible solar-panels on the plates, and BAM! we won’t need electricity @ all here in Kuwait :p
