MedApps of Scottstdale, Arizona, USA had it’s HealthPAL FDA-Approved! This will mean that at home patients will be able to connect common OTS (Off-the-Shelf) medical monitoring devices via cable of wirelessly via bluetooth technology to HealthPAL in order to transmit health data to central servers for analysis by clinicians! HealthPAL utilizes GSM cellular technology and soon CDMA.

“HealthPAL is currently approved for use in conjunction with glucose meters, blood pressure monitors, weight scales, pulse oximeters and pedometers.”

Boy will this be great for a country like Kuwait where in the summer time the heat is unbearable and may be a great risk for the elderly. Using this technology their healthcare providers will be able to monitor them remotely saving them time and effort of a visit. This is not to undermine the importance of seeing a physician, but sure it convenient when needed most. Oh and how sweet this information will be when integrated with EMRs!!! Keep it up HealthPal
