Just came across an interesting and exciting new research with stem cells. United International Press (UPI), Canadian researchers have successfully grown new blood vessels from stem cells.

David Hess, the leading researcher from Western Ontario University, had this to say

“We can select the right stem cells from the patient’s own bone marrow and put them back in the area of ischemia to allow these cells to coordinate the formation of new blood vessels. These principles could be applied not only to ischemic limbs but to aid in the formation of new blood vessels in ischemic tissue anywhere in the body, for example after a stroke or heart attack.” – David Hess, University of Westren Ontario

This is pretty exciting and cool! Think of what this could mean for many many treatments or even cures for certain diseases.
