Will Kuwait’s EMR efforts see sunshine!

Following up on recent developments with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), I came across two new applications of having open EMRs and integration

I can’t help but wonder if we will ever come close to this. At the moment, all primary care clinics in Kuwait operate an electronic system and operate a functional EMR. Some major hospitals too operate Hospital Information System (HIS), but further developments and many other issues I cannot disclose are yet to be addressed. I cautiously say that we may not be completely ready for this kind of change now … A lot of evaluation is needed prior to making any commitments … We just need to move in the right direction.

The scene of medical informatics in Kuwait’s health-care environment is messy!
